Notably absent from Madrid are Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski and partner Luisa Stefani, both of whom were late scratches from their respective Billie Jean Cup Cup commitments two weeks ago. With Dabrowski, Tennis Canada referred to “ongoing injury management” as the reason.
