Nearly three years ago, when Jesse Levine signed on to coach Jessica Pegula, the American wasn’t even playing.
Now 25, she underwent arthroscopic hip surgery in January of 2017.
But by May, 2019, Pegula was at a career high of No. 71, after she dropped out of the top 800 in Sept. 2017.
Still, coaches are hired to be fired. And the two parted ways after Wimbledon.
We’re told Pegula has reached out to longtime Venus Williams coach David Witt (who also has been approached by Jack Sock in recent months).
