MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

Rethink on Davis Cup reformat?

Innsbrück

Reaction to the Davis Cup revamp floated by ITF chief David Haggerty last month was decidedly mixed.

With several strong tennis nations against, soccer star Gerald Piqué is backpedaling.

Piqué, whose group plans to put up $3 billion, told the Spanish federation last week the final doesn’t have to be in Asia.

And it could be the week after the ATP Tour finals – not late November/early December. And the first round could stay. And there could be eight teams, not 18. Or there could be four each in Paris and Madrid.

So, in short, it’s still … pretty fuzzy.
