MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

Sloane Stephens has been on the down low for a week, after playing Fed Cup in San Antonio, Texas.

Silly to fly all the way to Stuttgart the next when … there’s a marriage proposal a brewin’.

The 26-year-old, currently ranked No. 8 announced Monday afternoon via social media that she and her longtime boyfriend, soccer pro Jozy Altidore, are engaged.

(We could insert a GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLL!!!! here, right?)

The rock is .. well, it takes up some real estate, dunnit?

Stephens has said that the two have known each other since fifth grade, growing up in Florida. But they began dating only three years ago.

She will also become “stepmom Sloane”, as Altidore has a four-year old son named Cameron from, as they say, a “previous relationship”.

Two-sport household

Altidore (full name Josmer Volmy) is the son of Haitian immigrants, and a forward for the Toronto FC soccer club. He has been at it 13 years, ever since he made his debut with the New York Red Bulls at age 16.

He was signed by Toronto in 2015. And that’s the biggest reason – besides the CN Tower and the Blue Jays of course – that Stephens spends so much time there.

Her hitting partner, Spencer Hawthorne, even hails from there.

Altidore has earned 76 caps and has scored 25 goals playing for Team USA.

He was limited to 13 games in 2018 after undergoing surgery on his foot to remove bone fragments in May (something he and his fiancée have in common).

Altidore signed a three-year contract extension that will keep him in Toronto until 2022. So they’re likely to see get to know Stephens even better.

Clearly it didn’t make him complacent. He’s on a tear so far in Toronto FC’s early season. In five games, Altidore has five goals and two assists.

Must be love.
