Madison Keys had all the troops out on the practice court Sunday, ahead of her big clash with countrywoman Serena Williams.
There was coach Lindsay Davenport (dressed in civvies and craving the shade), husband Jon Leach, occasional coach Lisa Raymond, and conditioning coach Scott Byrnes (formerly of Team Genie Bouchard).
On the serve return, she spent considerable time working on the forehand block return – a shot that is regularly used on the ATP Tour to counter the myriad of big serves, but a shot you don’t often see on the women’s side, not even in practice.
