MELBOURNE – It’s not that often that people get to see a lighthearted version of Milos Raonic; most of the time, whether on the practice court or the match court, he’s as serious as a heart attack.
But here’s a moment – playing a little soccer tennis on Show Court 3 with his physio, trainer and … noted fun man Gaël Monfils.
A few things to take out of it.
First, Raonic was better than I expected him to be. Not that I expected him to be awful at it (actually, I can’t say much thought was ever given to that subject), but he was pretty good.
Secondly, we now know that the tongue-sticky-outtie thing isn’t just restricted to tennis, but indeed to any activity that requires concentration. Chances are, little Milos did the tongue-sticky-outtie thing when he was working on his multiplication tables in the second grade.
Finally, even if you didn’t know that was coach Ivan Ljubicic’s little boy at the end (and his little girl) you’d TOTALLY know that was Ivan Ljubicic’s little boy. Right? I mean, except with more hair. Obviously.
Here the pics.
