INDIAN WELLS, Calif. – Battlin’ Sharon Fichman did it again on Tuesday.
She was down 3-6, 2-5 to Maryna Zanaveska of Ukraine before a combination of her opponent’s drop in level and untimely doubles fault but, mostly, Fichman’s renowned ability to compete even when she’s yelling at her coach after every lost point combined to give her the win.
She’s in the main draw, where she’ll face Shahar Pe’er of Israel Wednesday.
Here’s how the 3-6,7-6 (1), 6-3 victory went down.
