Big comeback from Zhao and Routliffe

GRANBY – Young Canadians Carol Zhao and Erin Routliffe were WAY down in their second-round doubles match in Granby. But not out.

From a 1-7 deficit against Eri Kozumi and Chiaki Okadaue, the No. 3 seeds, they rallied to win a match tiebreak 13-11 (saving two match points) and are now in the semi-finals.

Here’s how it played out.

Here are a few more photos of the two kids, both of whom spent several years in the national training centre program in Montreal, and both of whom went the college route.  Zhao was a freshman at Stanford this year; Routliffe was a Crimson Tider at the University of Alabama.
