U.S. Open scenes: Happy Gilles Simon (photos)

As cranky as Frenchman Gilles Simon was on court during much of his match against Steve Johnson in Tokyo Friday, he’s not always that way.

Check out these scenes from probably the best practice match during the weekend before this year’s U.S. Open – between Simon and Ernests Gulbis.

Then again, Gulbis seems to have that effect on EVERYONE – even in actual matches.
