Wimby Pics: A year later, Team Murray is sympatico

WIMBLEDON – How well they knew each other back in the day, who knows. But as Andy Murray coach Amélie Mauresmo prepares to hand over the reins to Jonas Bjorkman and go off on maternity leave, the chemistry seems terrific.

Here are some scenes from a June 27 practice, with Lleyton Hewitt as a practice partner.

Bjorkman is now the guy who gets to keep checking the time, as Mauresmo is relentless about doing.

The contrast from a year ago, when Mauresmo was the “new kid” on the Team Murray block, during pre-Wimbledon practice at Aorangi, is startling.

It’s probably no coincidence that Murray seems as settled, happy and comfortable as we’ve seen him in a long time. (Or maybe that’s being a newlywed!)
