Former Genie Bouchard coach Thomas Hogstedt wasn’t idle for long.
Open Court has learned that the amiable Swede has already begun working with a new player.
And that player is American Madison Keys.
Hogstedt has a long-standing relationship with players represented by IMG super-agent Max Eisenbud (Maria Sharapova and Li Na), who also represents Keys. So the new association makes complete logical sense.
Hogstedt is the fifth coach in six months for the talented 21-year-old American, who worked with countrywoman Lindsay Davenport and her husband Jon Leach and, as of the beginning of this season, with Canadian lefty Jesse Levine. As well, former top men’s player Mats Wilander was on board – for about a week.
Levine is currently in Madrid with Keys, so it’s unclear what his role will be, going forward.
What a crazy, incestuous world this tennis universe is.
