MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

At 46, Kimiko Date returns again

Once No. 4 in the world, Japanese player Kimiko Date retired in 1996, and stayed off the courts for 12 years.

She returned in 1997 and got back into the top 60 in the world. But she constantly battled injuries. She has had two knee surgeries since last playing at the 2016 Australian Open.

This week, Date announced she would return to action at the first week of May at an ITF event in Gifu, Japan.

You can follow her comeback on her Facebook page.
