Hantuchova, queen of wild cards

For a player ranked No. 247, Slovakia’s Daniela Hantuchova has a lot of friends.

In her 19th season as a pro, the 34-year-old has watched her ranking drop consistently.

But the wild cards keep coming. Indian Wells and Acapulco this year.

Linz, Tokyo, New Haven, Wimbledon and  Mallorca last year.

Seven passes: two main draw match wins.

She currently is more than 40 spots out of the French Open qualifying.

To play it for the 15th time, she’ll need help.

But the French have … a lot of young French players.
