MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

Bucket-list match for Socks in Atlanta

Two years ago, Eric Sock was a day away from dying.

He contracted Lemierre’s Syndrome, a rare bacterial infection, and spend three weeks in the hospital hooked up to a ventilator.

Wednesday in Atlanta, Eric and his younger brother Jack played doubles together in an official ATP Tour match.

They lost, 6-3, 6-4.  But it was the getting there.

Sock, now 26, played college tennis in at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.

He is a teaching pro at the Elite Squad Tennis Club in Kansas.
