As if Janko Tipsarevic hadn’t had enough time on the operating table, he found himself there once again at the Turku University hospital in Finland Thursday.
The 33-year-old Serb, whose career-high singles ranking of No. 8 came in 2012, had surgery on both hamstring tendons. Clearly he was awake for it, too.
He wrote that he expects to be back in the first quarter of 2018, and that this “would be his last major surgery as a professional tennis player.”
No kidding. Tipsarevic had two surgeries on his left foot in 2014, and missed nearly a year and half.
