MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

Vid: Félix Auger-Aliassime comes home

MONTREAL – After spending all but 10 days over the last four months in Europe on the red clay, 17-year-old Félix Auger-Aliassime is finally home.

But it’s only a pit stop, to sleep in his own bed for a few days – maybe have Mom do some laundry.

Because on Thursday, the Quebecer leaves for Toronto. He will make his Rogers Cup main-draw debut next week, with the expected wild card confirmed Tuesday.

Auger-Aliassime was denied that opportunity at home a year ago, which would have been bucket-list moment, because of a wrist injury.

So the vibe isn’t quite the same.

But it’s still in Canada, still a huge tournament – and he’ll still have plenty of support from the home fans.

Here’s what Auger-Aliassime said during the English portion of a press availability Tuesday at Stade IGA in Montreal.

The venue is hearing up to host the women’s event next week.
