Alexander Dolgopolov, the 29-year-old Ukrainian who reached a career high in singles of No. 13 back in 2012, has hardly played this year.
And after trying to heal a right wrist injury without surgery, Dolgopolov went under the knife in Munich late last week.
Dolgopolov reached the quarters in Brisbane and the third round at the Australian Open to start 2018.
But he has played just two matches since – none since May.
Notably, Juan Martin del Potro and Madison Keys, both of whom have struggled with wrist issues, pulled out of the Rogers Cup last week with … wrist issues.
