Defunct IPTL leaves financial mess

As the once-promising IPTL struggled to get its third season together, we heard many players hadn’t even been paid for the second season.

There was no 2017 season.

Nearly two years later, many who worked for the league still have not been paid.

That includes the broadcasting company, umpires, a photographer – to the tune of $5 million U.S.

IPTL director Mahesh Bhupathi blames the Legendari Group, which owned the Japan Aces and also had Leander Paes as an ambassador.

Canadian Steph Trudel, whose work and stats you see on the ATP’s world feed, went public with it.
