If Germany’s Annika Beck plans to return to tennis, she’ll have to wait awhile.
Still just 24, the former No. 37 was added to the ITF’s “officially retired” list on Monday.
That means Beck no longer will have do the anti-doping protocol. But it also means that if she decides to return, she will have to apply for reinstatement and sit through a six-month waiting period.
After multiple injuries, Beck’s last match came a year ago this week. When those points drop off, she won’t have a ranking (she’s at No. 903 now).
She’s reportedly studying dentistry.
