Crazy.
But that was the situation Daria Lopatetska found herself this week when she needed €12,000 ($13,400 US) to have meniscus surgery in Italy.
Countrywoman Elina Svitolina stepped up big time, paying for the surgery with other contributors helping to underwrite the long rehab process.
Not that we didn’t already see the difference between the “have” and the “have nots” among tennis federations.
Still, doesn’t this seem just … crazy?
