Always a Canadian, Tabilo reaches a career high as he now plays for Chile.
As Team Canada hits Madrid next month, another Canadian also will be taking part in the Davis Cup finals.
Alejandro Tabilo, 22, was born and raised in Toronto and played junior Davis Cup for Canada.
After a top-30 junior career, the lefty switched nationalities to play for Chile, the country his parents hail from.
It has paid off. Tabilo used the ITF system earlier this year to great advantage, gaining entry to Challengers and making them count.
He’s now No. 3 in Chile behind Garin and Jarry, closing in on the top 200.
Madrid will be his second Davis Cup nomination.
