After withdrawing from the Palermo tournament because of coronavirus concerns, Simona Halep made her date at the Prague Open.
She had a rocky start – needing a third-set tiebreak to take care of wily clay-court veteran Polona Hercog.
Halep then had to come back from a set down to defeat Czech wild card Barbora Krejcikova, 6-2 in the third.
She had a routine victory over lucky loser Magdalena Frech and then a tight one against her friend, countrywoman Irina-Camelia Begu (who had to play most of her quarterfinal match before returning to the court before the semi).
