MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

Flashback: 2016 Jr. US Open, Auger-Aliassime v Tsitsipas

.

Each player has their own path to the top.

And when Félix Auger-Aliassime met Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semifinals of the US Open juniors in 2016, he was just 16.

Tsitsipas, who stayed the juniors throughout his eligibility, was 18.

Despite the age difference, Auger-Aliassime won all three of their junior meetings (and their first two meetings in the pros).

And yet, Tsitsipas is No. 5 right now, while Auger-Aliassime has hovered just inside the top 20 for about a year now.

Maybe it’s big mane of hair the Greek star has grown since then.

Here’s what it looked like; Auger-Aliassime won it 6-4, 7-5 and went on to routine Miomir Kecmanovic in the final.

They are 2-2 in the pros now, as Tsitsipas has won the last two.

They meet Thursday night in the quarterfinals in Acapulco.
