MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

Genie Bouchard to join Tennis Channel during US Open Series

The Tennis Channel has hired Canadian Genie Bouchard as a studio analyst, during its coverage of the summer North American hard-court swing.

Bouchard, currently ranked No. 131, is recovering from shoulder surgery performed in May.

She is scheduled to make her debut Monday.

“Bouchard will offer commentary every day this week and continue to work for the network during the initial days of Canada’s National Bank Open presented by Rogers, which takes place in Toronto and Montreal starting August 9,” the press release says.

“Bouchard will interact with Tennis Channel analysts and former players Lindsay Davenport, Paul Annacone, Chanda Rubin and Jimmy Arias.

The official quote:

“I’m very excited to work with Tennis Channel for the next few weeks. Whether at home or in a hotel on the road, I always have Tennis Channel on my TV. I’m really looking forward to joining the team in the studio.”

The Tennis Channel studios are located in Los Angeles.

The network has often brought in players recovering from injuries including Sloane Stephens, Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Shelby Rogers, for guest gigs.

Bouchard also will be in Montreal for the final weekend of the Omnium Banque Nationale, part of the Sportsnet television coverage of that event.
