Félix Auger-Aliassime, the only Canadian left in singles in Cincinnati, had the late evening match against Berrettini.

It was a rematch of their Wimbledon match, after which the Italian went on to reach the final.

But on this night, Berrettini wasn’t 100 per cent with the leg injury that hampered him in that Wimbledon final still dogging him a bit.

And Auger-Aliassime was more than solid enough to take care of business and reach his first Masters 1000 quarter since Miami in 2019.
