As the women wrap up their qualifying, the men get under way Tuesday with their first-round matches.

There are four Canadians in action: Peter Polansky, Brayden Schnur, Steven Diez and Chilean-Canadian Alejandro Tabilo.

Polansky got the short end of the stick, getting No. 1 seed Botic Van den Zandschulp, who is ranked just No. 66 but whose rise at the US Open came too late for the Indian Wells cutoff. But only Tabilo was able to get through.
