ROLAND GARROS – A year ago in Paris, Naomi Osaka had some trouble even mustering up a smile on the practice court.

But on Tuesday inside an empty Court Philippe Chatrier, the Japanese star seemed in good spirits – and even tried a little sliding (not great) and hitting lefty (also not great).

She also shagged a few balls as coach Wim Fissette whacked some groundies.

Assuming the Achilles issue that curtailed her efforts in Madrid and Rome has improved, it’ll be fascinating to see where the unseeded Osaka lands in Thursday’s draw.

And what she’ll be able to do at the second Grand Slam of the season.
