Pliskova vs Kerber in the final would have been a pretty great outcome for Strasbourg.

Alas it was not to be – although having Frenchwoman Océane Dodin in the final would have been fine as well.

But Pliskova lost to Kaja Juvan, and Kerber won when Dodin retired after one game in the second set of their semifinal Friday.
