Not much of a shocker that Alexander Bublik, who reached the final on grass in Newport Sunday (and lost in a close one to first-time champion Maxime Cressy), decided not to show in Hamburg.

That’s two days and a long flight, going from grass to clay – and against No. 2 seed Andrey Rublev, no less.

It wasn’t setting up to be a thing.

In Gstaad, thd have Casper Ruud, Roberto Bautista-Agut and Dominic Thiem in the lineup. But only Bautista-Agut got on court. And even he wasn’t able to finish his match, because of rain.
