FLUSHING MEADOWS, NY – Fun times on the mixed doubles court as Gabriela Dabrowski and Max Purcell, took on Leylah Fernandez and Jack Sock.

Given Sock is arguably one of the best doubles players in the world (although Purcell is the reigning Wimbledon champion with countryman Matthew Ebden), this one is likely to come down to the women. Fernandez was probably the best player on the court as Team Lulu Lemon won in two close sets.

Dabrowski also won in women’s doubles before all of that happened.

Only three Canadians are in action – with Victoria Mboko and Mia Kupres victorious – were in action on the first day of junior play.
