As we flash through the archives for Open Court moments of Roger Federer’s illustrious career, here are a few from 2012.
And then, 2014 – which was a pretty banner year as the Fed hung out a lot with coach/mentor Stefan Edberg.
And he also hung out a fair bit with countryman Stan Wawrinka – even played doubles with him, including a fun encounter at Indian Wells against Canadian Milos Raonic and Ernests Gulbis.
Enjoy.
Here are a few shots from 2012, including practices with pal Tommy Haas (of singing trio fame), and a practice at Roland Garros with Marin Cilic.
In 2014, he introduced Edberg back into the tennis world at the Australian Open.
By Indian Wells, he was practicing with pal Stan Wawrinka.
And then, the pair took on Ernests Gulbis and Milos Raonic in an entertaining – jam-packed – doubles match.
Federer was still alive at the end of tournament, facing longtime rival Novak Djokovic in a final that went to a third-set tiebreak.
On the clay, Federer and Wawrinka hit up again – this time on Court Philippe-Chatrier.
And here he is at the US Open, wearing a bit of a dodgy practice kit.
More memories from 2014, including a practice in Melbourne with Lleyton Hewitt, a match against Alex Dolgopolov at Indian Wells, a big match at Wimbledon vs Raonic – and plenty of time in the press conference rooms.
