It was an all-Canadian doubleheader in Tampico on Tuesday, in the night session.
First up was Genie Bouchard, followed by new “Mexican avocado” endorser Leylah Fernandez.
Bouchard let it get away; Fernandez got off to a terrible start but pulled it together.
It was announced Monday that Bouchard was going to play an ITF in Calgary the week of the BJK Cup finals (a joint event with an ATP Challenger event Vasek Pospisil will headline).
