The ties that began on Thursday in Australia wrap up on Friday, with all but one tie possibly wrapped up with the first match (making the second singles and the mixed doubles meaningless – except for some cash, of course).

Some of the No. 1 players are taking part in the mixed – at least on the order of play: Tsitsipas and Sakkari, Bencic and Wawrinka, Pegula and Fritz.

But not all. Which is disappointing but not surprising.

A few others did join in later, but after outcomes were decided.
