Jannik Sinner, Roberto Bautista Agut and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina were among those in action in Montpellier, although Sinner got a walkover when Marton Fucsovics withdrew and Davidovich Fokina got a retirement from Ugo Humbert, who took an unfortunate tumble.

And Denis Shapovalov was one of the last players to see action in singles as he makes his Dallas debut – joining countryman Gabriel Diallo, who got the last-minute call as a lucky loser to play Emilio Gomez in the day’s opening match.

But both ended up going out.
