Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev will meet for the 14th time, Friday in the semifinals of the Dubai Duty Free Championships.
Djokovic leads the head-to-head 9-4.
But they last met just less than two months ago, in the semifinals of the Adelaide International.
Djokovic won that in straight sets. But that was the match in which he felt the pull on his hamstring that would dominate the conversation as he won his 10th Australian Open a few weeks later.
Here is some of what they said after that match in Adelaide.
Here’s Djokovic, not wanting to elaborate much on the hamstring. But it was clear he was concerned.
And here is Medvedev, in the best situation for writers in that he had just barely come off the court.
So he was still sweating, and the adrenaline was still flowing. So did the words (which were pretty interesting).
