MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

IW ’23 – Thursday, March 16, 2023 final results

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. –  The spotlight match was at night, of course. No. 1 seed Carlos Alcaraz vs. No. 8 Félix Auger-Aliassime.

The Canadian has a slightly weird but officially official 3-0 head-to-head against the Spaniard, with two wins late last year in Davis Cup and Basel. On Thursday, he got full-volume Alcaraz and it was all he could do to keep up with him.

The two women’s semifinals were first.

At 32, Sorana Cirstea must have felt like an old lady compared to the rest of the singles players on the sked. (And 32 is not old – if we needed to make that clear). But she was no match for Iga Swiatek.

(Indian Wells is on PT, three hours behind ET).
