Did Hubert Hurkacz have some juice left after a couple of draining, marathon wins in the leadup to this third-round match against an in-form Jannik Sinner. It almost looked as though he had another one in him; in the end, Sinner shut it down.

The lineup and time considerations did leave a potential match between Holger Rune and Matteo Berrettini on the second court. But it never happened anyway as Berrettini withdrew.
