ROLAND GARROS – After getting into the main draw as an alternate team, Canadian Bianca Andreescu and partner Michael Venus of New Zealand were in the mixed doubles final – and came close.

They faced Miyu Kato of Japan and Tim (Golden Set) Puetz of Germany, who won in a match tiebreak.

But the tasty dishes of the day were the women’s semifinals, which were as dramatic as you could probably ask for.
