What was to be Nick Kyrgios vs Denis Shapovalov ended up as … Wu Yibing vs Marton Fucsovics, as the two talented players didn’t make the date.
In Kyrgios’s case, it was his first match since Tokyo last October. So he’s asking his fans to be patient. In Shapovalov’s case, a first match on grass but a continuation of his inconsistent results.
In ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Milos Raonic was looking for a quarterfinal against the Aussie Jordan Thompson, after a couple of days off following his comeback win Monday. No. 1 seed Daniil Medvedev was also in action. Neither was able to get through; had they won, they would have played each other.
(‘s-Hertogenbosch and Stuttgart are six hours ahead of EDT).

Hello Stephanie Myles: If you have time, can you explain why L.F would enter Berlin qualifying with such a strong field (Stearns/Blinkova/Kalinskaya etc.) and not the other grass court events, given her recent inconsistent results? Presumably, players want an easy potential draw to get deep into a tournament?
I’m not sure where you’re getting your information, but it’s inaccurate, so your theories are invalid!
