Of note is the retirement from Zhang Shuai in singles, and her withdrawal from doubles.

Zhang has been pretty open about her distress at not having been home in three years. And yet she continues to enter tournament after tournament only to retire, withdraw or getting beaten badly.

Something has to give, at some point. You can understand her keeping the earnings going, as her singles ranking is still at No. 45 and her doubles at No. 28. But she’s at nearly $10 million in prize money for her career; surely she has to figure something out, for the sake of her physical and mental well-being.
