With last week’s events done, the 1000 is the only game in town on the women’s side.

And fresh Asian Games gold medalist Zheng Qinwen – who also had to deal with her coach just dumping her and going back to Team Osaka just as she arrives in her native land for the first time as a *big deal* – got a tough opener in Elena Rybakina and wasn’t up to the task.

As usual, plenty of drama on the women’s side.
