Canadian teenager Marina Stakusic had to wait quite awhile to follow up on her first-round main draw win in San Diego.

She finally got her opportunity Thursday against No. 7 seed Donna Vekic. She got a set – as she often has against higher-ranked players. But in the end, she went down in three.

And it was finally time for No. 3 seed Emma Navarro and No. 4 Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova to take the court.

In Austin, where the forecast was for … brrrrrr …. those night matches are going to be pretty chilly. The day matches, too; it MIGHT get to 10C through the lunchtime hours.
