MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

Some holdovers in both Munich and Bucharest after bad weather on Wednesday. And, in the case of Bucharest, a lot of players will have to do double-duty on Friday if they want to make the semifinals.

With Rafael Nadal out (and Alcaraz never in), of course a lot of the buzz is gone from the Barcelona tournament. But there remains a tournament to win. And Alex de Minaur, who eliminated Nadal, is no longer a contender after being beaten by Arthur Fils.

Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime, who made the great escape in his opener against Maximilian Marterer, was back to earn a quarterfinal spot in Munich against the capable Taro Daniel. It was – unusually for him of late – a fairly routine, efficient victory.

(Barcelona and Munich are 6 hours ahead of EDT; Bucharest is 7 hours ahead).
