So there were still first-round matches to start and finish, as well as the second-round matches in the bottom of the draw getting under way.

Six cancelled matches, and one suspended match, had to be caught up on. In the end, four second-round matches ended up cancelled. So they did make some headway.

Bianca Andreescu faced No. 26 seed Linda Noskova for a spot in the third round, and was impressive in victory.
