Québec and Canada had a doubleheader starting at 6 a.m. in beautiful Court Simonne-Mathieu as first Leylah Fernandez (vs. Angelique Kerber in the third round, a loss) and Félix Auger-Aliassime (against Maximilian Marterer in the second round, an easy win) took the court.

Later, the rare sight of Auger-Aliassime playing mixed doubles, as he teamed up with Gabriela Dabrowski, and they got through.

We WERE also loving the star power of the Zhang Zhizhen / Zheng Qinwen mixed pairing for China. Except Zheng withdrew and was replaced by Wang Xinyu.

And on the men’s doubles side, Alcaraz/Nadal and Evans/Murray tried to do it again. Luckily, not against each other. And they did.
