MONTREAL – The first-round byes mean a lot of players are around the grounds at the Omium Banque Nationale, but don’t start playing until a little later in the week.
And so players like No. 6 seed Casper Ruud are somewhat under the radar, and go about their business without too much fuss.
Here is Ruud – who is waiting for the winner between Marcos Giron and lucky loser James Duckworth in the second round – practicing on Sunday.
He was hitting with Miomir Kecmanovic, with whom he’s teaming up in doubles on Wednesday against the No. 7 seeds, Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni of Argentina.
