In Hong Kong, a mix of final-round qualifying and main draw, with Canadian Gabriel Diallo coming back to win and making the main draw.

Denis Shapovalov, who got a tough one against Kei Nishikori in the first round of singles, was supposed to start his season in doubles with Jerry Shang. But they withdrew, alternate Gabriel Diallo stepped in, but went out.
