Canucks This Week – Week ending May 4, 2025 (final results)

After early exits in Madrid, both Félix Auger-Aliassime and Bianca Andreescu are wisely dropping down a level this week with Auger-Aliassime taking a wild card into the Estoril Challenger, and Andreescu going to Vic, Spain to do the same along with Leylah Fernandez.

None of it worked out well at all – except that Andreescu and Fernandez both made the doubles final – with Andreescu and partner Aldila Sutjiadi taking the title.

Gabriel Diallo made the quarterfinals in Madrid as a lucky loser, getting him so close to the top 50 he can taste it.

Rebecca Marino stayed in Asia on the hard courts, but an injury of unknown severity caused her to retire in singles and withdraw from doubles. BJK Cup teammates Victoria Mboko and Marina Stakusic were at a WTA 125 in Saint-Malo. But that didn’t work out particularly well, either.

Best effort from Justin Boulais – the doubles title at an ITF in Nottingham, plus a run from the qualifying to the semifinals singles.
