Leylah Fernandez had a Sunday start in Bad Homburg. And she found herself against a player she hasn’t been able to shake this grass-court season: Queen’s Club champion Tatjana Maria.

Maria went from the qualifying to the title there, beating Fernandez in the first round. And they might well have met again in Nottingham last week, had Maria not withdrawn.

This time, Fernandez found a way.

There was four active events on this Sunday, with the tournaments at Eastbourne and Bad Homburg (where they’re starting the first round) in addition to the finals in Nottingham and Berlin. A lot of tennis.
