Canadian Gabriel Diallo looked for the quarterfinals in Hong Kong, as he faced his doubles parner this week – and the first Hong Kong native to ever win a singles match at his home-country event, Coleman Wong.

He started off well, broke Wong when he first attempted to serve out the match, but ultimately fell.

No. 1 seed Lorenzo Musetti and No. 3 Andrey Rublev also made their singles debuts, and were successful.

In Brisbane, Kyrgios and Kokkinakis got the night session for doubles and were edged out, and Daniil Medvedev vs. the unseeded Frances Tiafoe was a good one early on, but won routinely by Medvedev.
